As always in summer January has been a busy month with beachside markets, OHSC visits, the Tour Down Under and Australia Day just to name some of the events we participated in. Have a look at some of the photos we snapped.

December means Christmas and the markets, celebrations and events that go with it. We were back at the Gawler Police Blue Light Disco for the second year and enjoyed seeing the new police recruits scaling the wall.
We have been so busy this month that we barely snapped any photos! Here are a few we did manage to take. What an event the CMV motor group Christmas party was at Belair National Park! We have never seen anything like it. It was fully catered with roast Christmas dinner, desert, drinks, coffee etc. The activities for the kids were amazing! (Well, HighJinks Climbing was there so what do you expect!). Apart from us there was a bouncing tramp, an inflatable obstacle course, jumping castle, petting zoo and of course Santa came. Santa didn't disappoint giving every child a present. Well done CMV Motors. You look after your staff well. What fabulous weather we had and the sunset was incredible. Lots of people enjoyed a climb while listening to the Reggae Band the feasting on the street food on offer. We appreciate these community events hosted by Holdfast Council City of Holdfast Bay: https://www.holdfast.sa.gov.au/ Autism SA asked us to their family fun day. We enjoyed spending time with the families there and providing them with a challenging and fulfilling experience. Mums, dads, children, grandmas and grandpas all had a go climbing the wall and smiles and laughter were flowing freely. It was a very warm day. Another Belair National Park event. Check out our facebook page to see a man in stilts climb the wall! HighJinks Facebook The top two photos are thanks to Autism SA - taken from their FB page. Luckily the weather held out and we helped Faith College celebrate their 2017 Twilight Magnolia Festival.
Faith College: http://faith.sa.edu.au/ HighJinks Climbing has set up for the full month the Adelaide Fringe Festival is on in The Garden of Unearthly Delights. We are there from 5pm on Weekdays and from Lunchtime on Sat/Sun. If you are keen to make the most out of your climbing time we recommend you come Monday - Thursday as it is less busy then and you can take full advantage of the wall. Last weekend Friday afternoon - Sunday night we had a massive total 450 people climb! Climbing is $10 and this gives you around 5-10 minutes if it is busy but we will happily let you climb for longer if no one is waiting. We have two boards going at the Fringe; one for adults (with fastest climbing times) and one for the kids (for those who make it to the top) Here are some of the many photos we've been taking since the start of The Fringe.
Today we celebrated with the Muslim community at the Al Salam Peace Festival in Veale Gardens. It was a great day full of tasty food, multiculturalism and fun for all.
This was probably our busiest event yet. We set up on the foreshore just behind the war memorial yesterday for the street parade in Glenelg celebrating the Tour Down Under. We had huge queues the whole time and while we were exhausted at the end of it, we managed to see a lot of smiling climbers faces which made it all worth it! Because we were so busy we only managed to get one happy snap. Looking forward to the 2018 TDU already!
HighJinks set up down at Brighton Beach next to the surf life saving club over January. Lots of people came down for a climb. See if we snapped your photo.
Happy New Year everyone! Thanks for coming and climbing with us at Victor Harbor over the past week. We are having a few much needed rest days then will be at Brighton Beach. Even though we were busy on NYE we managed to sneak in a few photo. See if we snapped one of you!
HighJinks Climbing went along to Victor Harbor between Christmas and New Years and out onto Granite Island. It was an interesting trip across on the causeway with the climbing wall but we successfully made it in one piece and set up for the week. Despite some pretty average weather there were some beautiful days and a lot of fun had by kids and adults alike.
In December we brought Christmas in in style with two events in Gawler; The Police Blue Light Disco and The Gawler Christmas Carols. Both were hugely successful and it was great seeing some climbers two nights in a row. While we were very busy we managed to get a few snaps at the disco.
